Andrea Toth

Andrea grew up in Budapest immersed in the world of arts, textiles and fashion from an early age, first studying at the Applied and Fine Arts Secondary School as a Textile Designer, then the Partner Garment Trade Vocational School as Ladies Wear Fabricator.

She spent five years at the prestigious University of Arts and Design (Moholy-Nagy Müvészeti Egyetem), Budapest, studying knitwear under the tutelage of one of Hungary's premier knitwear designers, Ildiko Nyari, achieving a joint BA/MA in Knitwear Design.

Amongst her many shows and awards she received second place in the 'Moulin Rouge' Eurotexil competition and showed work at the Saint Etienne Biennial in France. During her studies Andrea also undertook short courses in the UK at Central Saint Martins and was awarded an Erasmus scholarship for a Surface Textile Course at the London College of Fashion.

After graduation she moved to Britain to work with haute couture and high-end designers such as Candy Anthony and Rachel Elbaz. Andrea has also worked as a design assistant for Manier Haute Couture in Budapest, with Fashion Fringe finalist Alice Palmer Knitwear, and as a design consultant to ownlabel.com.

She topped off her educational achievements in 2010 with an MA in Fashion Design and Technology, specialising in Knitwear, from the industry renowned London College of Fashion.
